DIY : Balayage Ombre Hair

For those who may not know, I have mentioned on my previous post I attempted a balayage ombre hair at home. After doing my research on Youtube and Google, watching how professionals and even ordinary girls just like me had done it just at home. It made me more confident when it came down to it. I'm not a hair expert and I can't burn a hole in my wallet so why not just give it a shot. I know some of you may be scared to attempt this but it worked on me. It's pretty simple, you don't need to be precise. The messier it gets, the more effect you'll get. I was wondering can it be done without using any bleach and just achieve it with just using a basic hair dye. I'm sorry to bring this down to you girls, but it can only be done with only bleach. Yes, there you go more damaged hair. In Malaysia, Watsons and Guardian have no ombre or highlighting kit so my only option was bleach. So here's what I used to get it done :

Ex- Hi Bleach By Gatsby | RM 20 from Watsons/Guardian ; My own tools (not provided in the box)
Looking at the box made me think twice, can I do this to my hair? I'm just damaging it even more. Oh wells, if it didn't work or turns out bad I'll just cut it. I just had to try it and so here it goes. Getting the product ready is explained by the side of the box or the instruction guide. As this is my first attempt, I had my sister to help me. So before anything, please do a strand test. Apply the bleach on a strand of your hair or you may cut a few to see how blonde will you like it to be. For me, I didn't want it to be so blonde, it was between light brown and orange (leave it about 25 mins).  I started with the balayage effect by applying the bleach vertically on the higher length of your hair and just apply it all on the lower length of the hair. Here's the tutorial I found to guide me through the process.

So I literally followed this video. I do advice you to get your hair straighten to make it more easier. I had done it with my hair being all wavy and curled. It's the reason why it did get messy but it turned out well. So here's the results!

My highlights didn't turn out so obvious as I was scared to leave it longer. Here, my ends seems to be in light brown with red undertone. Under the sunlight, it's pretty orange and my ombre is a bit more obvious than the picture. The last photo was taken under the sunlight hence it's more obvious. All I can say is I'm happy with the results, although it did dry out my hair. Don't worry I found a solution! Will do a post on it soon. Anyways, if I'm planning to retouch or re-ombre it maybe I'll try with the Loreal Ombre Kit? I do want it be a bit more blonde. I hope this post with help all you girls whose not up to fork out much money to get this hairstyle done.

Let me know how yours turn out if you do use this technique!

Balayage and Ombre Hair?

I can't help it but to browse around for this hairstyle that has been around since 2010. Not a single celebrity that can't rock the balayage and ombre hair,  even my favourite youtubers are rocking it too such as Zoe Sugg, Michelle Phan and Claire Marshall. If you don't know what balayage and ombre hair is, it is where you have highlights all over your hair or the blonde bleach/hair dye all over your ends. By doing ombre and adding highlights it'll give more texture and natural flow to your hair. The balayage effect is done by sweeping the bleach/hair dye vertically to the strands of your hair. It'll frame your face even better when you have highlights along your fringe. Here's a few pictures for you to imagine how gorgeous it may look on you! Trust me I've been googling and I just can't stop loving the style.

As it's been days I've been googling, watching tutorials of DIY Ombre Hair. Learning how it is pretty simple to do it at home, don't have to be too precise or professional guidance during the application. The messier it is, the greater effect you'll get. So the heck, I'm doing it! I'm on break, I've chopped off my hair and I find myself already bored with my current hairstyle. So why not? I've always admire with Kylie Jenner's hairstyle, as she has dark hair like me and most Asians. For darker hair it is pretty hard to get it blonde bleached, it's very stubborn. Even hair dye in lighter shades for me takes time for it show.

So I did get on doing the balayage and ombre hair at home, stay tuned for the updated post of the results on my hair! If you follow me on twitter, you would know it turned out.

OOTD | Bright Pink with Denim

A day out with my bright pink sweater paired with jeans. As you can see it's pretty bright, I know. I do get 'Wow, that's very bright!' from my mom, aunty and probably most of my family members. But I can't help it, I love it! It adds way more colour in a dull outfit. I wore my Zara heels for an outing! Well, it was a quick one that not require lots of walking so why not show some love to it!

Rizman Ruzaini's Boutique Launch

I had a chance to be involved in Rizman Ruzaini's big night. It was the launch of his new Raya collection and boutique in Sungai Besi, and I love the interior design. He had pinned black and white photos up on the walls. So classy, very the Kardashian's style. Calling time was 4 hours before the show as we had to get the goodie bags all wrapped up, getting the little things ready and being there for the rehearsal. As the day goes on, the event finally started with us greeting the guests and media. I'm telling you I was just so star-trucked looking at all the celebrities, they were just so perfect. My fav ones just have to be Ziana Zain and Erra Fazira. Anyways, the night went smoothly as we planned, Alhamdullilah. Just making me miss my diploma years, getting all dolled up for events and managing and planning those nights. It was a great experience to be involved and seeing how everything goes before the event, getting to meet the celebs! All thanks to a friend of mine Aiman Rahim, I really appreciate it. I know one day its gonna be your turn babe, I'll be there to see your dream comes true.

FOTD | In Pink

RT Blush Brush & Buffing Brush | Etude House Cotton Fit BB Cream in W24 | The Falsies Big Eyes Maybelline | Peri Peri Tint in Pink Juice | Gimme Brow in Medium | Lip Ice Sheer Color | IN2IT Xtra Lasting Liquid Eyeliner in Very Black | Sleek Trio Blush in Lace |  Elianto Safari Shadow in Soft Sandalwood

Here is what I wore for the past few days, not to say a natural look but just a casual one for a day out.
With just a light coverage I've been loving from the BB Cream that suits oily skin. I forgot to add in my most favourite concealer, Collection Concealer in Medium which you can get from Watsons now. Thanks to whoever brought in Collection to Malaysia, love you long time! A light touch up on my brows, I usually grab the Gimme Brow if I'm too lazy to fill in as you can see my brows looks messy rather undefined. I was just too lazy to take a few minutes extra to make those strong brows. Applied a bright shimmery eyeshadow to brighten up my lids, cat eyed and curled em lashes with my current favourite mascara. It's not available yet in Malaysia, I had to asked a friend of mine in the UK  to get it from me but I believe you can order from an insta shop, @shopmystash. To give a lil more colour to the look, applied Lip Ice then off to my newly added to my lip collection which is the Peri Peri Tint Water.

What's your favourite product for now?

Lazy Day

Over the weekend,  I had those lazy dresser where you just want to put anything comfy all together for a day out. You can't go wrong w harem pants and simple tee, it is comfy and casual for an everyday look. Wore my ASOS platform to add some height as harem pants can make me look even shorter. I've been loving the platform, wore em for almost everyday tho I'll avoid it on the days that requires a lot of walking! Anyways, I had the most famous banana leaf in town, Nirwana that never disappoints me. Worth having and burn them calories later on. I usually have my cheat days over the weekends. It's pretty hard to stay away from all these!

How was your weekend?
