Superb Guy

So I've been spending my precious hours with this brilliant guy. Met him awhile back. When? Since degree started. Where? Uhm thru Google.  How? Whenever I needed a better explanation of..
Life?
Love?
Nope, none of the above.
(Oh gosh, who is this laaa?!)
Well at any time I needed an economist by my side. He'll be there.
He won't exactly be there. But I can reach him on the internet (wth, is she for serious?)
And you guys could too! Any future economists out there? Do click on the link if you are!

Introducing Khan Academy! (ekeleh, yes i know i'm lame but he is superb!)
I'm so thankful I found this 'online classroom/tuition'.
I like how you learn thru videos. Really makes me understand Economics better. From the Economics history to graphs and equations or what not. Everything is explained thru a video. It takes only a few minutes for a sub-topic. Rather than searching for answers from multiple websites, this takes the least of my time. I hate reading long essays, they tend to confuse me. For me, a summary of a theory is the best to interpret. Hehe, the less the better.

Okay, back to Khan. (since the econs online tutor is a guy, I assume he's Khan)
Seriously, I think I reach to him (Khan Academy) more than my friends! All thanks to finals. Goodbye social life, I'll see when I see you.

ps : We can learn anything from anywhere

Go Away Cicak!

What is it like living on-campus accommodation and surrounded by Msia's rainforest? Oh, I can tell you how it is. Cicak (gecko), cockroaches, birds (my alarm clock) and even bats be living with you. From diploma years till now, I am still dealing with them. I'm alright with cockroaches but not cicak(s)! I loathe them. You know it's like they know you're scared of them so they'll be around more often. Sigh. I have had so many memories with them. They always seem to pop out in my life when I least expect it. Always giving me a heart attack.

Once upon a time in Machang, a cicak was in my cup. Yeap, my cup guys. It decided to greet me early morning (when I'm half awake). Just when I wanted to get my breakfast done, I was about to grab my cup and I saw it staring at me. It wasn't even running away from me. As if it was his cup! Pfft. I was too scared to do anything so I woke my girls up.

'Babies, there's a cicak in my cup'
'What? Feezaaaa Halid' (not my fault cicak loves to kacau me)

All of us just stared at it, even moved the cup and yet it didn't move. We gave up and went to class. I was distracted in class tho, couldn't get it out of my mind. After class, I tried spraying Shieldtox. Failed. Even sprinkled hot water. Failed. At last, B just took the cup and threw the cicak out of the window. As simple as that, it was gone.

My story with it doesn't end here guys.

Now, this happened in Al's room (Notts). So it was that one particular night I decided not to hang at her room. As I was about to sleep, Al rang me.

'Babe, there's a cicak in my closet!'
'Closet, seriously?!'

Rushed to her room and we both just stared at the closet with hangers. Preparing ourselves for war! Well, obviously we didn't have the balls to shoo it out so Al had to call her floor-mate to do it. It managed to get out of the closet by itself. How? By flying/jumping out! Got the shock of our lives, shouted like mad. And yet it was still in the freaking room. Altho it was a baby cicak but oh god it was fast as a Puma. One moment it was at the corner, suddenly it's at the edge of the room.We moved the furnitures, everything was everywhere. At the end, the hall tutor helped us out. Finally! After the shouting and chaos, our cicakman saved us.

Why you do this to me, cicak?
Look, even when I'm away from campus you're in our group chat. If you're not physically around, you'll somehow be mentally present!

Pity Nards had to deal with you all alone. Go away!

Just Blend and Drink

I'm a big fan of smoothies. Boost Juice, Juice Works, La Juiceria (current fav) but most of all homemade ones are the best. With my target for now to stay healthy and not get sick, I shall try to be more rajin to make smoothies every morning again. I used to make one everyday for breakfast and dinner (yeap, i was diligent once). Hmm is there any frozen smoothies in ice cubes here? Hehehe so I could just throw them in the blender and tadaa my smoothie is all done!

I wish La Juiceria is my home. Have you guys tried it before? They offer cold-pressed juices and detox shots. I tried Goodness Green, PAM and Beet Aid. I love the Goodness Green the most. How I wish I have my own juice bar at home and say goodbye to self made juices/smoothies! Oh wells, life is not made to be easy.

Fact #1 : I don't like cutting fruits (the first to run from cut fruits duty) so I tend to grab bananas, strawberries and blueberries only for my smoothie.
It can be really boring at times if I have the same smoothie everyday. Pfft, I must not be lazy then. But today I was lucky, Dira made one for me. I love you sis.
Recipe : Just blend 1 banana, 1/2 cup each blueberries and pineapple. Yummyy

What's the perfect juice/smoothie recipe?

No time off

It's the time of the semester again, finals taking over my life. Why do we have to go through this? :( Day and night facing the same old thing. Hello pens to goodnight ink-less pens.

My study break has officially started and yet it feels ages since I smell freedom. Altho, I had no lectures this month but the amount of work and notes I have, oh boy. As if Parkinson's Law applies to my degree life, 'work expands to fill the time available for it's completion'.

I hate the fact I'm always hungry when I study. I tend to grab anything edible that's inches away from me. Always wanting to munch on something, bad! So to avoid that I'm trying my best to drink 3 litres of water to feed my hunger. Go Feeza you can do this!

Oh, and I got sick a day before my Malaysian Studies exam (thank god, not a major subject). Still, such a bad timing. So now, without fail I chug all the vitamins needed for my precious body. I can't afford to get sick, not right now. InsyaAllah.

Bachelor's Degree

So it's been a month now since I entered Nottingham Semenyih. Although, it's not where I imagined I'd be (missing my girls lots), still am grateful. Life's been pretty hectic lately with tutorials, study-time, movie night at Al's (it gets pretty lonely in the room), society meetings and it goes on. It's only been a month, my days are so pack!

I've signed up for AISEC (check out the link), Backstage Crew for UNMC Stage Play and Sudanese Cultural Society (yes, I know I'm not from Sudan but they were really cool at CS Fair) ps : Sudanese girls and hijabis from Middle Eastern are so pretty! I envy their eyes and how they rock the kajal.

It seems crazy right? But I want to get the best experience out of UNMC. During diploma years, Cultural Unit Theatre was everything to me, it was one of the best years with my girls in my life <3 so I hope these societies would make my uni life memorable and unforgettable.

Me trying to rock the kajal and that's a glimpse of my room.

Till next time xx

a new beginning

Well, hello September please be nice to me. Hm, it's the month of a new beginning for university students. Stepping into their final year, maybe just starting the university life or maybe still figuring it out. New goals, new beginning, new friends, and new environment (pretty exciting!). But what saddens me the most is parting from your best friend. To leave your comfort zone with no one by your side is challenging.

I love my friends. I treasure the friendships I have made throughout my diploma and high school years. Starting all over again with strangers who would soon be your lunch buddies takes time. It starts of with 'Hi, my name is Feeza' and a little bit of your background, then to exchanging stories. Fitting in your 21 years of living in a nanosecond is just impossible, unless you're under the same roof. I'm scared but I know I have to get through this. I have to. For all the years I went through has brought me unforgettable moments with my trustworthy, reliable and wonderful friends. Cheers to more!

Wish me luck.

stack of bowls

I get excited when it comes to girls day out, who doesn't?! Talking non stop, from peppy and interesting topics to another, never ending gossips (boys can never catch up) and just lepak with my girlfriends makes my day instantly. I love my girls, a lot. My university girlfriends and I got together for lunch at Boat Noodles in Empire Damansara. Since everyone raved about this place there's nothing I couldn't agree more. A bowl of chicken/beef noodles won't be enough. Had 2 spoonful of it and I'm on to the next bowl. If you love Asian noodles, give this a go!

Yeap, that's how small the portion is! RM 2 for each bowl.
Can you have more than this? I bet!

Then we filled our day with selfies, selfies and more selfies (yeap, my girls were pretty amazed w my NX mini) and shopping! Ended our day at B's boyfriend's place for barbecue. Met new friends and his 7 hugeee cats, I'm not kidding. Not forgetting the most delicious meatballs I've ever tasted after Ikea's. Had a bunch of them, dang now I'm hungry.

3 years and counting, roommates ever since 2011 <3
Parting our ways soon to pursue our degree but I know we'll keep in touch
I'll bloody annoy them through Whatsapp & Snapchat obviously!

I'll be okay

I'm sure all of you have sorted out your life in some way. Whether which uni you'll be in, which degree you're pursuing, the job you're applying to or even what's for lunch. There's just always something to think about. And many that I know would hate talking about the future. It's such a big step to take. It freaks me out! We spend a lot of time not knowing. I wish I knew what the future held, at least high hopes won't exist.

'Don't put on high hopes to be crushed by the results in the near future' - Norain

But what if we could see our future? You'll know where you stand in the next 5/10 years, who's your significant other, how many kids you'll have. If you could see everything, where's the big surprise. A lot of the joy in life comes from surprise. What's the point of living if at the end you see your death. I wouldn't want to know how I'll die. Only the Almighty deserves to know.

And knowing what's coming discourage decision making and learning from your own mistakes. Maybe He knows not knowing is the best for us. Not knowing makes us experience life, making life decisions and giving our best shot. When you know you can't predict what happens next, you look at the world differently.

Let's say if you jot down your plan on becoming a successful person. Every steps you take matters. Small decisions take a big part of your plan. From time to time, you start to learn from the past and being ready for the future. When I say ready, set your mind not everything will go your way. That's how life is.

It's upsetting when things aren't going as you planned, so take a step back and calm down. Process your emotions, rant all you want but don't linger around the problem. Don't stop thinking but do acknowledge your thoughts. I believe everything happens for a reason so always be ready for the worst. Maybe you are where He wants you to be, everything has been fated for us. Just suck it up and  fight through the pain. Everything will be alright

KL Vintage Festival 2014

Lately, I've been loving the weather in KL. Reminds me of monsoon season in Machang.
Cloudy, windy and no sun. Ah, such a perfect sweater weather.
So my family and I checked out the Kuala Lumpur Vintage Festival since we won't be roasting under the scorching hot sun!
It was just a place filled with vintage stuff from clothes, bags, sunglasses, you name it all. It was heaven especially for my lil sis so all you vintage-lovers, I command you to check it out!

Amazing Lamb Puff (RM 15) & Homemade Sarsi (RM3.50)

Their kitchen is based in Ara Damansara and they also do delivery!

Pretty Aztec Clutch Bags at RM30

Vintage stuff everywhereeeeee!!

She found her perfect sunglasses, if only it comes with a perfect price :(

Just me enjoying the Sarsi. Yums

Since it's Merdeka weekend, I wore a camouflage jacket from Topshop to express my gratitude to our patriots of the country with a Bershka yellow top (p.s i wore it with the tag on,typical me *facepalm*) and my all time favourite shawl from Bidadari Contemporary.

I'm Back

Hello? I know it's been awhile. I've been away from this blog for awhile now ever since Ramadhan  I guess. If you're wondering why, I blame the lazy bug bites! Even my precious DSLR is not around,  makes it no fun to update. I can't be sharing my love towards products I'm adoring with no pictures! Hopefully my lil sis will return it as soon as possible.

For the time being, I'll try to update with pics I have on my laptop because honestly I just miss blogging.
Maybe even more pics on my life
I find posting pics on social media more memorable as you'll stalk yourself more often
Please don't tell me you don't scroll down your Instagram more than your iPhoto/Photo Library

This Week's Picks #1

This week's favourites are mostly eye-related. They've been my go-to products whenever I step out for sunshine as they're easy to use.

Essence Liquid Eyeliner
At the moment I've been loving this a lot. I'm a person who goes for felt tip eyeliners but in someway this one is easy to use as it comes with a ultra soft tip. It's easy to apply, the tip goes smoothly for a cat flick but it gets a bit fiddly when I apply above my eyelashes. It takes time for me to get used to the tip but practice makes it better. The eyeliner is the blackest black as you can see from the swatch, it is extremely matte which I love. The staying power is amazing, it stays the whole day and it's waterproof. I would have to swipe a few times with a cleansing water to take it off.

Collection Brightening Concealer
Since I was running out of concealer, I decided to give to this a try and I'm proudly to say Collection has done it again with their concealers. I got it in the shade, Natural which may be a bit too light for my skin tone but it is a great colour to cover em dark circles and brighten it up. It does not only covers the dark circles but it can be used as a liquid highlighter on the nose bridge, forehead, chin and anywhere on the face to add a bit of radiance. It comes with a creamy concealer but it does blend out well with either a brush or even your fingertips. Once applied, I'll set it with a powder to avoid it from creasing and for it to stay in place for long hours.

Big Eyes Mascara
To be honest, I don't think I've ever repurchase any mascaras as I'm not fussy when it comes to it. As long as it does it's job, I'm fine but I'd definitely repurchase this one. I love how it comes with a special brush for the lower lashes and upper lashes. It makes it easier to get the clumpy effect like how Alexa Chung does it. It might not be obvious on the picture as my eyelashes are way too short! If you're a massive fan of the clumpy look on the lower lashes, I would recommend this mascara. It comes a plastic bristles for the upper lashes which are good for separation and avoid the spidery lashes. Apart from that, it's waterproof but it is easy to remove it with coconut oil or any eye makeup removers.

What's your favourite products are you loving lately?

Bronze The Eye

I can honestly say, I'm not adventurous when it comes to eyeshadows. I'm pretty much all about bronze, nudes and neutrals, just nothing too fancy. It's rather odd to see me with blue or green smokey eyes, the furthest I can go is with the Naked 3 as it's very subtle on my skin tone. So for the times I'd go for the easy bronze look, I'll just apply a bronze shade all over the lids. Lately, I've been using the MUA Eyeshadow Palette in Undressed for a hint of bronze. I tend to reach out for the shimmery bronze shades just to add a bit of a colour. For a typical day to day basis, I'll keep it simple and add a hint of it to make my eyes appear more awake and wider. It comes with 12 different shades but I do find the colours are pretty close to each other, there's not much variety. If you're a girl who stays on a safe side with eyeshadows I don't think this would be a problem. Apart from that, the eyeshadows do fall out, so to avoid it I'll pat on the lids or sweep away the excess with a powder brush. To be honest this is not the most pigmented eye palette as other high-end palettes but it is a pretty decent palette to fit into the low-budget.

What's your favourite low-budget palette?
