Extra Care for Damaged Hair

So not too long ago, I've bleached my entire ends to achieve a bit of Ombre hair. It adds more texture to my hair but getting chemicals into it has dry out my hair even more. Not to mention, my hair was pretty damaged even before this not to say it was not well treated but it wasn't easy to have gorgeous, soft, shiny hair for me. That's one of the reasons why I chopped off my long locks. As mentioned in one of my previous posts, I'd love to share my current hair care routine. It's more on how I take extra care of my hair.

Organix Renewing Morrocan Argan Penetrating Oil
I had this for awhile now but I'm just starting to adore it. It's great for detangling, tames the frizziness and adds moisture to my hair before I blow-dry my hair. It's light, non-sticky and has a great scent of argan oil. It does not work well on blow-dried hair, it feels a lil sticky on the hair so I'd only reach the product out on damp hair. I purchased this in Singapore, pretty amazed with the amount of products I could find there that are not available here in Malaysia. Can we please have the complete range of Organix, dying to try each of them.

Redken Smooth Lock Heat Glide
Before blow-drying or straightening my hair, I'd grab my recent purchase from Hair Depot that was on 20% discount. On the first try, I was already impressed. It makes my hair looking incredibly healthy, glossy, sleek and completely tames the frizz. The serum is awfully thick that just glides through your hair with a strong lovely scent of almond. I'd divide my hair into 2 or 3 sections and apply 1 pump for each section of my towel-dried hair. I then apply 1 pump evenly to my ends if I get the flat iron on, my hair gets silky straight and stays on till the next wash. Since it's so thick do limit to 2 pumps to avoid your hair feeling sticky and weighed down.

I use this on dry hair whenever I need extra care to it. I apply especially on the dry parts and comb through with my hands. The oil is light, non-sticky. It comes with a pump to help dispense the oil with the right amount. It leaves my hair more manageable, soft and adds more shine with just a few pumps. I love how it is specially made for coloured hair, making the colour or highlights healthier-looking. I really love the smell of it as well, it smells luxurious and as if you got your hair done in the salon (salon-ish smell)

VLOG : Jump Street

What's life without fun? So not long ago, Jump Street which is located in Petaling Jaya has just opened to public. It's a big warehouse just filled with trampolines! Ever had a dream of having one at home? Well now don't get on to that, just check out this well raved Jump Street. It's way better than getting one big trampoline when you have one whole warehouse of it. I must say I had a great time and it was one heck of a workout. You know how you're up for keep-fit sessions that requires fun, yes it is all about fun and sweat. Trust me, one whole hour is good enough. After jumping for a few minutes and a round of dodgeball I was already exhausted. So do bring along your water tumbler. I salute to those who could go for another round, great stamina you got there! Anyways, here's my vlog for you to see how amazing the place is, you'll be surprised by how much fun you'll have by just jumping around.

Review : Topshop Sheer Lip in Chuck and Red Alert

It was awhile ago when I added Topshop Sheer Lips in Red Alert and Chuck to my collection. It was on a discounted price if I bought two items on the rack, I'm pretty sure it's still going on. I had to get Chuck (berry with plum undertone) as I was looking for a darker shade. I'm not a fan of red lipsticks, as it may look a bit too much on me but this Red Alert(red with orange undertone) can look natural on me if I apply a layer on my lips.

First off, let's just say the packaging and design is so cute. The matte black and stars on it, makes it look so sleek and pretty. I love how Topshop designs their makeup collection. They just know how to make us attached to them.

I love how both shades blend in to my natural lip colour. It's more of a tinted lip balm, but as you apply more layers the colour would be more obvious. That's the extra point, I love how I could go all natural or bolder look with these two. That's why they've been my daily lipsticks, although it fades really fast but it doesn't bother me. Like I said it's more of a tinted lip balm so I do find it moisturizing on the lips. It has a slight scent of vanilla with a buttery formula. It glides on really smooth with no sticky texture, and gives a glossy finish.

If you're a fan of tinted lip balms and looking for more pigmented ones with a longer wear, you should give it go!

What's your favourite Topshop lipsticks?

DIY : Balayage Ombre Hair

For those who may not know, I have mentioned on my previous post I attempted a balayage ombre hair at home. After doing my research on Youtube and Google, watching how professionals and even ordinary girls just like me had done it just at home. It made me more confident when it came down to it. I'm not a hair expert and I can't burn a hole in my wallet so why not just give it a shot. I know some of you may be scared to attempt this but it worked on me. It's pretty simple, you don't need to be precise. The messier it gets, the more effect you'll get. I was wondering can it be done without using any bleach and just achieve it with just using a basic hair dye. I'm sorry to bring this down to you girls, but it can only be done with only bleach. Yes, there you go more damaged hair. In Malaysia, Watsons and Guardian have no ombre or highlighting kit so my only option was bleach. So here's what I used to get it done :

Ex- Hi Bleach By Gatsby | RM 20 from Watsons/Guardian ; My own tools (not provided in the box)
Looking at the box made me think twice, can I do this to my hair? I'm just damaging it even more. Oh wells, if it didn't work or turns out bad I'll just cut it. I just had to try it and so here it goes. Getting the product ready is explained by the side of the box or the instruction guide. As this is my first attempt, I had my sister to help me. So before anything, please do a strand test. Apply the bleach on a strand of your hair or you may cut a few to see how blonde will you like it to be. For me, I didn't want it to be so blonde, it was between light brown and orange (leave it about 25 mins).  I started with the balayage effect by applying the bleach vertically on the higher length of your hair and just apply it all on the lower length of the hair. Here's the tutorial I found to guide me through the process.

So I literally followed this video. I do advice you to get your hair straighten to make it more easier. I had done it with my hair being all wavy and curled. It's the reason why it did get messy but it turned out well. So here's the results!

My highlights didn't turn out so obvious as I was scared to leave it longer. Here, my ends seems to be in light brown with red undertone. Under the sunlight, it's pretty orange and my ombre is a bit more obvious than the picture. The last photo was taken under the sunlight hence it's more obvious. All I can say is I'm happy with the results, although it did dry out my hair. Don't worry I found a solution! Will do a post on it soon. Anyways, if I'm planning to retouch or re-ombre it maybe I'll try with the Loreal Ombre Kit? I do want it be a bit more blonde. I hope this post with help all you girls whose not up to fork out much money to get this hairstyle done.

Let me know how yours turn out if you do use this technique!

Balayage and Ombre Hair?

I can't help it but to browse around for this hairstyle that has been around since 2010. Not a single celebrity that can't rock the balayage and ombre hair,  even my favourite youtubers are rocking it too such as Zoe Sugg, Michelle Phan and Claire Marshall. If you don't know what balayage and ombre hair is, it is where you have highlights all over your hair or the blonde bleach/hair dye all over your ends. By doing ombre and adding highlights it'll give more texture and natural flow to your hair. The balayage effect is done by sweeping the bleach/hair dye vertically to the strands of your hair. It'll frame your face even better when you have highlights along your fringe. Here's a few pictures for you to imagine how gorgeous it may look on you! Trust me I've been googling and I just can't stop loving the style.

As it's been days I've been googling, watching tutorials of DIY Ombre Hair. Learning how it is pretty simple to do it at home, don't have to be too precise or professional guidance during the application. The messier it is, the greater effect you'll get. So the heck, I'm doing it! I'm on break, I've chopped off my hair and I find myself already bored with my current hairstyle. So why not? I've always admire with Kylie Jenner's hairstyle, as she has dark hair like me and most Asians. For darker hair it is pretty hard to get it blonde bleached, it's very stubborn. Even hair dye in lighter shades for me takes time for it show.

So I did get on doing the balayage and ombre hair at home, stay tuned for the updated post of the results on my hair! If you follow me on twitter, you would know it turned out.

What's your colour for your ombre hair? Blonde? Caramel Brown? Blue? Pink?

OOTD | Bright Pink with Denim

A day out with my bright pink sweater paired with jeans. As you can see it's pretty bright, I know. I do get 'Wow, that's very bright!' from my mom, aunty and probably most of my family members. But I can't help it, I love it! It adds way more colour in a dull outfit. I wore my Zara heels for an outing! Well, it was a quick one that not require lots of walking so why not show some love to it!
